As many of you will have heard, we suffered a burglary at the Camrose at some time during Saturday's game.
The dressing rooms and referee's room were entered, and valuables taken, including keys to a BMW, which was then taken from the car park. Police were called as soon as this was discovered, and a statement made.
This is obviously a very distressing incident for the Club on our opening game of the season, we have never had an incident like this at the club before, and we are at the moment looking at all the security we have in place, and the aspects raised by this.
Police have issued an appeal to anyone who was at the ground on Saturday:
PC Clyde Jerrard, from Basingstoke police station, said: “This was the first football match of the season for Basingstoke Football Club and there would have been lots of people around the ground on Saturday afternoon.
“I would ask anyone who witnessed the burglary, or saw anyone acting suspiciously around the ground, to contact the police.”
Anyone with any information should contact PC Jerrard at Basingstoke police station on 0845 045 45 45 or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111
